In March 2006 Senior Executives from member banks of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association will make its’ annual trip to the nation’s capitol. The purpose of this trip is to meet with legislators, along with other bankers from around the country, to discuss their priorities and positions on legislative issues affecting the banking industry. It is estimated that the current expense small banks spend on staying compliant, is one out of every four dollars of operating expense. Much of the discussion during this visit focuses on the regulatory burden put on community banks in order to transact business.
